It’s not every day we create front page news and make it to breakfast TV, but when we were asked to create a high profile migration campaign to promote the Province of Alberta as a great place in which to live and work, we went to town.

Taking advantage of a visiting Government Minister timed to coincide with Canada Day, our pro-active media relations activities showcased the career opportunities and lifestyle benefits available in Alberta, brought to life with expat stories.

We achieved coverage in the Daily Mail (front page lead story), Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, The Independent, The Daily Mirror and the Daily Star, not to mention broadcast interviews with BBC Radio and ITN. Meanwhile online, a huge debate raged about the pros and cons of emigrating overseas.

As a result of the coverage, website and telephone enquiries from Brits wanting to emigrate soared way beyond expectations over a 48 hour period.
