For some years, Prowse has been proud to sponsor a young girl in Ethiopia through Plan UK - an international children's development agency working with communities in the world's poorest countries. The charity was co-founded in 1937 by the British journalist John Langdon-Davies and it was its 'Because I am a Girl' campaign that especially caught our attention.
Although all children lose out when in extreme poverty, girls are far more often neglected and overlooked that boys and likely to lose out on education, suffer from malnutrition and be forced into early marriage.
Plan's work in this area both lobbies for change and provides on-the-ground support to transform the lives of girls around the world. Find out more here.
